The goal was to maintain and restore the original features of this late 19th century home whilst introducing modern interior design and sustainable living. Internal crittall screens and doors enable separate spaces for modern living. The basement staircase was re-orientated to create a more functional space in the basement. Sliding doors to the rear of the ground floor allow the garden to become an integral part of the kitchen/living area. Eco-friendly solutions such as an air source heat pump, solar controlled windows, underfloor heating, and three tiered insulation were introduced to achieve energy efficiency and reduce the environmental impact.
