We used Holt for the full reconfiguration and refurbishment of a house we had bought that needed a lot of work.  In summary, I could not recommend them highly enough, they have been superb throughout.  From the design process, where their insights and suggestions to us and the Architect, were hugely valuable, to the actual 10 month build that was not just on time and precisely on budget but also considerately managed throughout (my neighbours were very impressed with them). The main plus in my opinion has been the finish though.  It is stunning.  The craftsmanship and care to detail has blown us away.  We also used them for interior design and our home is now the envy of all our friends, several of which are now seeking to use Holt for their own projects.  All in all, if you are thinking of using Holt for a housing project, do it, you will not be disappointed.  They absolutely wont be the cheapest, but you get what you pay for, and having done a few housing refurbishments in my time I only wish I had used them before.  A fantastic company.

This was a complete gut job on an existing apartment.  Plus an extension built out over a new part of the building’s roof.  Some quite complex engineering.  Holt did an outstanding job at all stages of the work.  They also did a very good job of keeping within the original costing and did not charge excessively for alterations during the project.  Finally, they have been a real resource since the main work was completed and have come back and dealt with a number of small extra jobs that were not in the original scope.  I would unhesitatingly recommend them and hire them again.  Indeed, I just have. To renovate another apartment.

I have worked with Holt on a number of projects.  The service has always been first class.  They are highly organised, prepare carefully and the standard of work is always excellent.  Holt understand that the quality of the work is the most important point to deliver on and they do.  Their project management and communication is strong and they have always met their promises on timing, even if the project has taken longer than I would like.  They are well resourced and well informed on the most up-to-date materials and methods (eg eco options).  I could not recommend them more highly and would happily work with them again.

I provide a design consultancy for Holt on their development projects and when a design and build package is required for clients.  Always my preferred contractor – their attention to detail and the quality of build is second to none.  Always delivering my vision with precision.  A highly knowledgeable and efficient team, all working to create the best outcome for clients in terms of cost, time scale and with the best quality without the stress that can so often come hand in hand with a refurbishment.

It was a pleasure to work with James and his team, who make the building process as stress free as possible.  They are receptive to building innovative details, and have a mountain of practical knowledge to add to a collaborative process.  They have brought in several contracts with me on time and on budget, and I genuinely believe they are one of the best small contractors in London.

We engaged Holt for a full modernisation and refurbishment project of our 6 bedroom Victorian home.  The quality of the work is exceptional to the extent that 4 years on from our moving back into our newly refurbished home, it still looks like new.  James Holt is a builder with the eye of an architect/interior designer, who appreciates quality workmanship and demands perfection from his team.  You only need to look at the way he sets up the site to realise the attention to detail they have.  Immaculately organised, a strong focus on safety, rules like none of his workmen are allowed to play music or radios that may offend neighbours, a very slick and well organised company.  I would have absolutely no hesitation in using them again myself and in recommending them most highly.
